Prayer Diary
'Thanksgiving Celebration Conference'
20th - 22nd November 2009

I have listed 21 prayer points to be prayed over 21 days – one prayer point for each day.

Between now and the conference it is possible to go through the prayer points 3 times – I know God’s power will be in such an act.

1. 18th September – 8th October

2. 9th October – 29th October

3. 30th October – 19th November

I’m asking those who are able, to join in a partial fast during the final 21 days (30th Oct - 19th Nov), fasting one meal a day. For those who must eat regularly, but would like to join in the prayer and fasting, may I suggest you fast sweet things or favourite food during those 21 days.

I believe God has shown me through the scriptures that Cork is a strategic city in Ireland. Reading the book of Ezra, I believe Cork can be likened to Jerusalem, which when in times of reverence towards God was blessed, but in times of rebellion was led into captivity. As in the time of Ezra God provided faithful people and resources to bring revival to Jerusalem, so now God’s hand is upon Cork to bring revival to the people of Ireland. The prayer points come from the book of Ezra.

Prayer Points:

Day 1 (18th Sept, 9th Oct, 30th Oct)

‘Who is among you of all His people? May his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem

. . . and build the house of the LORD God of Israel’ (Ezra 1: 3)

Pray that those whom God calls to be part of the team bringing this ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Conference’ to Cork in November will respond wholeheartedly to God’s calling.

Day 2 (19th Sept, 10th Oct, 31st Oct)

‘And whoever is left in any place where he dwells, let the men of his place help him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock’ (Ezra 1: 4)

Pray for those who are called to minister to God at the ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Conference’ to have all their financial needs met – travel, accommodation, meals, etc.

Day 3 (20th Sept, 11th Oct, 1st Nov)

‘And all those who were around them encouraged them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.’ (Ezra 1: 6)

Pray for God to touch hearts of believers to willingly offer towards the cost of the conference.

Day 4 (21st Sept, 12th Oct, 2nd Nov)

‘King Cyrus also brought out the articles of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and put in the temple of his gods’ (Ezra 1: 7)

Pray for resources which are rightly God’s but have been stolen to be returned for God’s people to use in the house of God and to bring glory to His name.

Day 5 (22nd Sept, 13th Oct, 3rd Nov)

‘Now these are the people of the province who came back from the captivity’ (Ezra 2: 1a)

Pray for people in the area of Cork who have been born into captivity because of the sins of their forefathers, that they will attend the conference and come out of captivity into the forgiveness and redemption of Jesus Christ (Eph 1: 7)

Day 6 (23rd Sept, 14th Oct, 4th Nov)

‘According to their ability, they gave to the treasury for the work’ (Ezra 3: 69a)

Pray for those who are saved by Jesus Christ at the conference to dedicate their lives to God and His work, to be spent for His service.

Day 7 (24th Sept, 15th Oct, 5th Nov)

‘Though fear had come upon them because of the people of those countries, they set the altar on its bases (foundations), and they offered burnt offerings on it to the LORD’ (Ezra 3: 3a)

Pray for those who receive Christ and those whose foundations are strengthened at the conference not to be intimidated by people from their old lifestyles, but will go from strength to strength, offering thanksgiving to God upon the foundation of faith.

Day 8 (25th Sept, 16th Oct, 6th Nov)

‘They also gave money to the masons and the carpenters, and food, oil and drink’ (Ezra3: 7)

Pray for every financial need to be met in the setting-up and provision of this ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Conference’ – every bill will be paid on time to the glory of God!

Day 9 (26th Sept, 17th Oct, 7th Nov)

‘Then Jeshua with his sons and brothers, Kadmiel with his sons, and the sons of Judah, arose as one to oversee those working on the house of God’ (Ezra 3: 9)

Pray for those whom God has chosen to work together to set-up the ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Conference’ to be united in the vision Christ has for the conference, working as 1 Person (Ps 133).

Day 10 (27th Sept, 18th Oct, 8th Nov)

‘When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priest stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals to praise the LORD according to the ordinance of David king of Israel’ (Ezra 3: 10)

Pray worship leaders at the ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Conference’ will respond to God’s call to true worship with the fervent praise and worship King David exhibited (John 4: 23; 2 Sam 6: 14).

Day 12 (29th Sept, 20th Oct, 10th Nov)

‘Let the work of this house of God alone’ (Ezra 6: 7)

Pray for the protection of God’s plans, that they not be thwarted by the enemy stirring up people to fight against the work of God (Acts 5: 39)

Day 13 (30th Sept, 21st Oct, 11th Nov)

‘Let the cost be paid at the king’s expense . . . that they are not hindered . . . and pray for the life of the king and his sons’ (Ezra 6: 8, 10b)

Pray for miraculous provision for the work of the kingdom, that King Jesus would have much of the work provided for even through worldly authority figures. Pray blessing upon those who although not yet in the kingdom, willingly offer support the work of God.

Day 14 (1st Oct, 22nd Oct, 12th Nov)

‘And whatever they need . . . let it be given them day by day without fail, that they may offer sacrifices of sweet aroma to the God of heaven, (Ezra 6: 9-10a)

Pray protection over those who are called to dedicate their time to prayer and the ministry of the word (Acts 6: 4), that they will not be distracted by financial needs, but rather see their daily need met.

Day 15 (2nd Oct, 23rd Oct, 13th Nov)

‘Then the children of Israel who had returned from the captivity ate together with all who had separated themselves from the filth of the nations of the land in order to seek the LORD God of Israel’ (Ezra 6: 21)

Day 16 (3rd Oct, 24th Oct, 14th Nov)

‘And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy; for the LORD made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.’ (Ezra 6: 22)

Pray that all who are called to the ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Conference’ will attend with joy and also go out with joy, that they will be strengthened in their personal walk with God for the work they have been appointed to do in the house of God.

Day 21 (8th Oct, 29th Oct, 19th Nov)

‘Grace has been shown us from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival’ (Ezra 9: 8)

In anticipation, let us give thanks to God for His grace towards all who will attend and participate in the ‘Thanksgiving Celebration Conference’, especially thanking God for enlightening our spiritual eyes and giving us a measure of revival. To our God be glory, honour and praise always, Amen!
