I can get more out of God by believing Him for one minute than by shouting at Him all night.

Smith Wigglesworth

The Lord is saying... Stand tall and walk with your head held high. The King of the whole earth proclaims you righteous. No one can bring a charge against you. No one can condemn, for my blood has washed you and my resurrection has justified you. Let this be your only defence.... My blood shed for you.

If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.Romans 8: 31-34

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelations 12 10-11

Standing on the promise of imputed righteousness and justification by faith can be difficult for a believer. Somehow as we approach nearer to God, His light seems to shows our imperfections up to ourselves in more glaring detail. Yet we are encouraged to come before the throne boldly to obtain grace when we are in trouble. It doesn't say to approach the throne when we have everything going right in our lives but when we are in trouble. And this word we can surely rely on.... Because of Jesus's blood shed for us, we are welcome in that throneroom. God isn't seeing sin but His bloodwashed child.

Before we were Christians we were quite happy in sin and even unaware of it. We thought we were inheritantly good with maybe a bit of bad in us. We felt justified in hating and sticking up for ourselves and our family. You might have heard the Yorkshire saying. "I'm alright.. its t'others", When a life is given over to the "One who gave all for us" that person understands there is nothing in him that could have deserved such love.

Christ's way of doing things is so different to the world's way. God loves us and corrects us because we are His. If we really love our children we will not get them to stand up for their rights and teach them to hate and get what they can out of life. This is a road that leads only to pain. We reap what we sow. The more we can teach our children to be peacemakers, to give rather than to receive, to love rather than hate, to see their own responsibilities towards their fellow travellers instead of other's responsibilites towards them we will set that child on the road of peace and happiness.

Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Lyrics by Shirley Howitt-

Today as I came to you feeling dirty, poor, afraid
You lifted me gently to the Father above
I saw with eyes of wonder His joy and praise
As He welcomed me like royalty, into His love

The angels they looked on as He paraded me
See my beloved child in whom I'm pleased
Incredulous, inadequate and dazed, I could only say
How can this be, Oh how can this be, How can this be
For someone like me

The truth rose up inside me like the dawn on a winter's morn
Nothing I've achieved or could have done
But on the cross at Calvary Jesus won this place
Oh how can this be, for someone like me, how can this be

This hour spent now on earth is not for toil and strife
To achieve a love that's been already won
Oh how wild and free to live this wonderful life
To glorify an extravagant God who's outstretched hand is saying come
Oh how can this be to someone like me?
Oh how can this be to someone like me?

And if I spent ten thousand years in eternity and space
I'd stand in your throne room amazed
And if I had a million tongues to sing your praise
You'd still hear me say, how can this be
And when I've been there with you forever and a day
I will still be amazed at your AMAZING GRACE
