The
Lord is saying: For I have a plan for you that is wonderful. Your
life has taken an unexpected turn. I am working all things together
for your good.
The
Finished Work
When God made
the world He rested on the seventh day. The reason He rested was
not because He was so tired that He couldn't make another tadpole.
He rested because His work was complete. Every orange, cow
fish, pomegranate had the seeds in it to continue its kind over
and over again. It was finished, He didn't have to create another
tree so that Adam and Eve would still have food after they'd eaten
all the fruit up from the garden.
All Adam and
Eve had to do was to tend the garden, and pick the fruit and eat
it. They entered straight into God's rest and enjoyed His finished
work, His complete provision.
The New Creation
There was another
thing that God created after creation. The new creation….a
new species ….those who would be born again, by the Spirit
of God. Jesus obtained everything we will ever need when He died
on the cross, and rose again from the dead.. He paid with His
blood for everything we need that was lost by Adam and Eve. He
redeemed us back to life and life in abundance. He will never
have to take another stripe for our healing, or for our grief.
He will never have to be punished again for our sins…so we
can be made righteous. And just like at the beginning…after
He cried it is finished, and died, He then sat at the Father's
right hand and rested.
We are meant
to enter into that finished work and rest, in our spirit we are
complete, we do not have to strive, Jesus reached the standard
that we could never reach...
For
he that enters into His rest, he also has ceased from his own
works, as God did from His. Hebrews 4. 10
All we will
ever need has been provided, health, wealth, righteousness, joy,
peace, love.
For
in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you
are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.Collosians
2. 9 &10
When you rest
in the finished work, what is there to add…? Just obedience..God's
strategy!!! Rest doesn't mean that we will be laid on a bed of
feathers having grapes fed to us. Israel had to march round Jericho
seven times before the walls fell. But they didn't make it fall,
in their own power it was impossible. They had a part to play.
We rest in the finished work and we walk in the finished work…we
obey God's strategy and then watch God work!!!
