And the LORD said
to him,
'Surely I will be with you'
Judges 6: 16
I love the story of Gideon! In the natural Gideon is a fearful character,
small both in his own eyes and the eyes of those around him, yet
God calls him a 'mighty man of valour'. When Gideon argues he is
incapable of taking-up God's ministry, being the least influential
person in his nation, the LORD replies, 'Surely I will be with you'.
Alone, Gideon has no power or strength to fulfil His mission, but
with God coming alongside him all things are possible! If size is
needed, there is no bigger Person than Almighty God; if power is
required who is more powerful than Creator of the Universe! When
God gives you something to do you need not fear you're too small
or too weak for the job. That's actually part of the plan; when
you are weak He is strong, and when you are small in your own eyes
you realise how big and capable God is, keeping none of the glory
for yourself, but giving it all to Him to whom all praise and glory
belongs!
Dear LORD God,
I pray to take courage when You lead me to do something beyond my
own ability. Open my ears to hear you say, 'Surely, I will be with
you'. Let Your promise fill me with confidence as I place my trust
in Your strength and ability. I ask all in Jesus' name. Amen!

The Lord
is saying: How far will you go to seek out the lost with me.
Will you break down the barriers that only love will face
courageously. Don't you know that when you start to take back
the enemy's spoils you shall face a battle, but the battle
is won, for I have won it. Just stand in the face of opposition
in love and you will see that the enemy will flee. I am with
you.
Joshua
1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage;
be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy
God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
