Golgotha.
O, barren lifeless hill
What evil deed have you seen dealt to love divine?
Did you in your slumber
ne'er see your precious guest?
On a rubbish tip my love
gave up the ghost,
and down on you the
place called skull
the final remnant fell
from out his side
to change your barreness
into a shrine
for those of us who follow him
O, Golgotha,
What evil deed have you seen?
The hard firm wood,
the nails, the hammers,
the rock beneath,
and mortal man, second person
in the God-head,
roughly pushed,
to take the place we gave him.
Sharp metal nail touching gentle frail,
And O, so tired flesh,
Then hammer on nail,
through to the
unyielding wooden substance.

The Lord
is saying: Will you run away too or will you stand and let
me deal with the self- life that causes you so much trouble.
Stay with me through this time and endure and you will surely
see your reward. Will you, this time let me deal with the
root. Will you die to that thing that has cost you so much
and has caused you so much pain. Stay with me and you will
come through rejoicing.
James
1:2 - 4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers
temptations; Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith
worketh patience. But let patience have [her] perfect work,
that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Abandon all
Jesus said if you want to be my disciple you have to abandon
all that you hold precious. Does that mean you can't have
a spouse or children or money. No it means you can't hold
them with a clenched fist. Nothing should be able to stop
you following Jesus. No, Hold your ground, hold the promises,
hold your confidence, when all is shaking and stand... and
when you have stood, you will know the truth and the truth
will make you free and you will be His disciple indeed.
Prov
23: 23. Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction,
and understanding.
Don't
cross your boundary line
The enemy knows the buttons to press to try to make you react.
We all know the lines that we cannot cross. We have to stand
and when we have done all we must stand on the word God gives
us.
You
will free others
You know what happens when you stand on God's word and start
to live it out..... You are cutting your way through the thicket
into freedom. Others, too, may find a way out of their pit
by the path you have cut. It might mean torn hands but if
we suffer with Him we shall reign with Him
